Below are videos created by students as part of the learning done in my classes. There are also links to some of my former students blogs that were created in 2007. All students had blogs and they posted all their work to their sites. Classmates, parents, family and of course myself were able to view and comment on their work. The students loved having a worldwide audience for their work.
BEAN MAN
This was a video produced as an entry into a competition run by Studio 2 of TV2. It was sponsored by Watties. The students were required to create a video featuring the adventures of a superhero called Bean Man. The students wrote, storyboarded, filmed and edited and then produced the finished movie. They also wrote and recorded an original song for the sound track. This film made it to the finals and aired on National Television. It won awards for Best Original Sound Track and also for Cover Art Design.
CLICK HERE to go to the Inquiry Work done on light. It starts with WALTS by the students then there is a further link to the Questioning they developed as well as the answers they discovered. Students respond well to being part of the process rather than being given a series of tasks and questions to complete.
CLICK HERE to go to the Writing Blog. Students posted their work including drafts for anyone to comment on and suggest changes, ideas and even spelling corrections. The boys in particular took to this idea suddenly writing huge amounts where as before it was like drawing blood from a stone. I think again having people from around the world reading their work fired them up. As you can see from the list below their writing truly went global.

HOT WHEELS
The premise was to devise an advert for their favourite toy. They had to have a slogan that was concise and the advert had to appeal to their target audience. Again the key competencies on display with this type of collaborative work prove that IT Integration into classrooom programmes is a must in 2010 and beyond.
